Upcoming Meetings

The Office of Science and Technology published two notices in today's Federal Register that should be of interest to the Nanotechnology community. The National Nanotechnology Coordination Office will be holding a public meeting on 11/16/2009 from 7PM-8:30PM at the Holiday Inn Rosslyn at Key Bridge in Arlington. The  "Nanomaterials and the Environment & Instrumentation, Metrology, and Analytical Methods Workshop: Nanotechnology Public Primer Meeting". This meeting will provide general background information about nanotechnology and Federal nanotechnology research and development efforts.  Space is limited and pre-registration is required. For more information on this meeting, please read the Federal Register Notice.

The National Nanotechnology Coordination Office is also holding a workshop at the Holiday Inn Rosslyn at Key Bridge on 11/17-18/2009, from 8:30AM - 5:30PM on the 17th and from 8:30AM - 3:30PM on the 18th. This workshop will be an open forum to "discuss the state-of-the-art of the science related to environmental, health, and safety aspects of nanomaterials in two areas: human health and instrumentation and metrology". As with the meeting on the 16th, space is limited and pre-registration is required. Upcoming Public Meetings

 Friday's Federal Register carried two notices of public meetings sponsored by the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office. The notices may be accessed here and here.

The first meeting, a "Nanotechnology Primer" pre-meeting, will be held October 5th from 7-8:30PM at the Holiday Inn Rosslyn-Key Bridge in Arlington, VA and will focus on providing background information about nanotechnology and Federal nanotechnology research and development projects. The Primer meeting will serve as a preparatory meeting for a workshop and public meetings on (1) nanomaterials and the environment and (2) instrumentation, metrology and analytical methods, also to be held at the Holiday Inn Rosslyn-Key Bridge on October 6th and 7th, from 8AM-5:30 PM and 8AM-4PM respectively. Considering the starting time for these meetings, one hopes that they have plenty of coffee available.

Pre-registration for both the Primer meeting and the workshops and public meetings is required. The main sessions of the workshop and public meetings will be webcast.
